"I came to Mesra Guaman completely overwhelmed, not knowing where to begin. The initial consultation gave me the clearest picture I had had in months of what my options actually were. The lawyer took her time and never rushed me. I felt heard — which I had not expected."

"My main concern throughout was my children. Mesra Guaman made it very clear from the first session that their approach put the children first. The custody arrangement we eventually reached was one I felt comfortable with — and more importantly, one my children have settled into well."

Rajendran s/o Krishnamurthy
Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur
"I had consulted two other lawyers before Mesra Guaman, and neither had taken the time to explain the maintenance assessment process in terms I could understand. Here, everything was broken down clearly. The outcome was fair, and I felt the team had genuinely worked in my family's interest."

Fatimah binti Mohd Fauzi
Shah Alam, Selangor
"The thing I appreciated most was that they told me about mediation as an option early on, rather than going straight to court. We were able to reach an arrangement without proceedings — something I had not thought was possible. It saved time and a lot of additional difficulty."

A Closer Look at Client Journeys
Circumstances have been changed to protect privacy, but the experiences are representative of real matters handled by our team.
Challenge
A mother of two in her late thirties contacted us after her husband had initiated separation proceedings. She had received documents she did not understand and was worried about what they meant for her access to the family home and the children's schooling.
Solution
We began with a consultation to explain the documents clearly. From there, we managed her response to proceedings, negotiated directly with the other party's solicitor on custody and the family home, and reached an agreed settlement without a contested hearing.
Result
Settlement reached in four months. The client retained primary custody, the children's schooling was not disrupted, and financial arrangements were formalised in a consent order. Timeline: under five months total.
"I came in very frightened. Leaving, I felt the situation was manageable. That shift happened in the first session."
Challenge
A father sought help after his former partner relocated with their son without prior agreement. The existing verbal access arrangement was no longer being observed and he had received no response to his communications for several weeks.
Solution
We filed an application for a formal access order and requested an urgent hearing date. In parallel, we wrote to the other party proposing a managed access schedule to demonstrate good faith. The written proposal was eventually accepted before the hearing.
Result
A court-endorsed access schedule was put in place within six weeks. The child's contact with both parents was restored. A maintenance order was also obtained at the same time. Total duration from first contact: eight weeks.
"Everything happened faster than I expected and with far less conflict than I had braced myself for."
